Rev. Canon Patrick Wakula consecrated as 1st Bishop of Central Busoga Diocese
Central Busoga Diocese is finally born! Rev. Canon Patrick Wakula was consecrated by Archbishop Stanley Ntagali as the 1st Bishop of Central Busoga Diocese on Sunday, 13th November 2016.
The inauguration of the long-awaited Diocese of Central Busoga was also successfully accomplished during the colourful ceremony.
Planning for the new Diocese began long ago and it was carved out of Busoga Diocese.
All Saints’ Church in Iganga is the Pro-Cathedral for the new Diocese.
The Rt. Rev. Stephen Kaziimba, Bishop of Mityana Diocese, preached a powerful message to the huge crowd assembled, exhorting the Bishop-elect to be a humble, servant leader and, above all, to LOVE the people.
The President sent a representative on his behalf and also donated a car to support the 1st Bishop in his pastoral work.
